The authors have calculated the collision strengths averaged over a Maxwellian distribution of electrons for all the transitions among the 12 lowest states of Si III. These are presented over a temperature range (0.50-25)*10 4 K. They used configuration interaction wavefunctions in the R-matrix calculations of these results. They compare their results with other work. Resonance effects play a dominant role in semi-forbidden transitions.
