Density, viscosity, and speed of sound have been measured for the binary mixtures of ethylene glycol monomethyl ether (CH 3 OCH 2 CH 2 OH) with 1-hexanol (C 6 H 14 O), 1-octanol (C 8 H 18 O), and 1-decanol (C 10 H 22 O) at temperatures of T = (293.15, 298.15, 303.15, and 308.15) K and at a pressure of 0.1 MPa as a function of composition. The experimental density, ρ, values were used to calculate the excess molar volumes, V m E . The isentropic compressibilities, κ S, have also been calculated with experimental densities and speeds of sound data. The values of V m E were fitted to the Redlich−Kister polynomial equation and have been used to discuss the presence of significant interactions between polyether and alcohol molecules.
