SUMMARY A graft-versus-host reaction across a non-H-2 difference was demonstrated by injecting BALB/c spleen cells into the hind footpads of (BALB/c X DBA/2)Fx (B X D) recipients and measuring the increase in weight of their popliteal lymph nodes. A strong host-versus-graft reaction was demonstrated by the same method when (B x D) cells were injected into BALB/c, and a weaker but measurable reaction when (B X D) cells were injected into DBA/2 recipient.
