The forward scattering amplitude for the scattering of sound by vorticity appears to diverge. It is pointed out that this divergence occurs only for two-dimensional flows of nonvanishing circulation, in which case it is related to the unphysical assumption of having an infinitely long-range velocity field interacting with an infinitely extended plane wave. Two regularization schemes are possible: In one the velocity field is screened, so as to have an effective finite extent; and in the other the wave is modulated to be of finite amplitude.
