Surgical technique review demonstrates safe and effective robotic enucleation for esophageal submucosal tumors, highlighting enhanced visualization and maneuverability in challenging locations.
Esophageal submucosal tumors are rare, often benign, and amenable to minimally invasive resection when symptomatic or enlarging. Robotic-assisted thoracoscopic enucleation offers superior visualization and maneuverability, particularly in challenging locations. This article reviews the technique for robotic transhiatal and transthoracic approaches. The robotic-assisted approach can allow for safe and effective enucleation through a minimally invasive platform.
