The Faraday rotation and spontaneous Hall effect were investigated in amorphous thin films with compositions (GdFe)_1-xMₓ (M=Bi,0ex0exSn,0ex0exAu). Bismuth and tin are found to increase the Faraday rotation, φF, the Hall resistivity, ρH, and the sample resistivity, ρ, while Au decreases φF, ρH, and ρ as compared to values observed for GdFe. Specifically, φF is proportional to the Hall angle (ρHρ). A model first proposed by Voigt is developed to account for this proportionality.
