Two additional cases of metastasis from histologically benign uterine leiomyomata are presented and the previously recorded experience with this rare entity is reviewed. The limitations of histological criteria in assessing the malignant potential of smooth muscle neoplasms are emphasized. It is suggested that since these tumors behave clinically like low grade uterine myosarcomas, aggressive surgical treatment may be warranted despite extensive tumor spread.
