This letter presents a multiband antenna for many navigation satellite systems including GPS, GLONASS, BDS-1, and BDS-2. The main features of this antenna are the following: three layers of stacked rectangular patches to achieve multiband operation and compactness; axially symmetric distribution of shorting pillars to reduce the inductance caused by long feeding probes to enhance the isolation between feeding probes; metal walls to improve the antenna radiation pattern. During the simulation and experiments, the proposed antenna exhibits excellent performance and proves its suitability for the integrated positioning of multisystem compatible receiver. Details of design considerations and experimental results are presented.
