Relative elastic scattering and excitation cross-sections of cadmium, up to the first ionization potential, are obtained from spectroscopic measurements on electrons with initial energies ranging from 3.4 to 85 eV. Relative differential cross sections are reported for excitation of the 5 5 0 (elastic), 5 3 P 1 , 5 3 P) 2 , 5 1 P 1 , 6 3 S 1 , 6 1 S 0 , 5 1 D 2 , 6 1 P 1 , 7 1 S 0 , (6 1 D 2 -7 1 P 1 ), 8 1 S 0 and (7 1 D 2 -8 1 P 1 ) levels. Relative integrated scattering cross sections as well as momentum transfer and viscosity cross sections are also given.
