An electrostatic energy analyser has been developed to determine the energy spectra of electrons present in 1-10 mA beams from hollow anode gas discharge guns, operating between 3-20 kV. Basically the instrument employs the electrostatic field between charged, concentric cylinders to achieve dispersion.
