This study is an attempt to test the proposition that ferment student unrest. One finding is that multiversities have a much higher incidence of student protest demonstrations than other types of academic institutions. Another finding is that the structural characteristics of the academic institutions are largely determined by size. Size of the student body was the best predictor incidence of student protest demonstrations. Other factors, such as complexity, had little independent influence. An explanation is presented to account for these results.
