Magic-angle spinning NMR spectra on 6Li in Li4SiO4, Li4.1Al0.1Si0.9O4, and Li3.7Al0.1SiO4 resolve multiple lithium cation sites, and, with increasing temperature, show averaging due to exchange of Li+ among sites. These exchange rates predict measured ionic conductivity accurately. Doping with aluminum increases Li mobility significantly.
