Magnesium isotope ratios of 60 natural samples, including carbonate, evaporite, hydroxide, silicate, oxide, seawater, brine, meteorite, and biological samples, were measured by thermal emission mass spectrometry. Statistical analysis of the data reveals no evidence of variations among the natural samples or between any of the natural samples and a reference sample of magnesium metal. The 95% confidence limits for each natural sample are ±0.11% and ±0.22% for the Mg24/Mg25 and Mg24/Mg26 ratios, respectively.
