The anomalous behaviour of the Tl + /Tl(Hg) electrode in 1 KNO 3 + 0.1 M KCl solution has been studied experimentally applying the theory described in parts IV and VI of this series. It is shown that this anomaly can be explained assuming that the double layer capacity increases on adding thallous ions. The increase Δ C appears to be proportional to the TI + concentration. The phase angle Φ of the faradaic impedance is equal to π/4.
