Novel organosilicon diisocyanates having the following general structure where R1 = R2 ˭ CH3 and C6H5 = have been synthesized by Curtius rearrangement of acid diazides. These diisocyanates and their intermediates were characterized by infrared spectroscopy (IR) and nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy (NMR). Reactivities of these diisocyanates with 2-ethylhexanol were studied by IR spectroscopy.
