Pi-Electron Hamiltonian. II. Inclusion of Self-Consistent Screening

Pi-electron Hamiltonians are derived which contain self-consistent screening in zeroth order, and sigma–pi coupling through second order. It is shown that the Coulomb interaction between pi electrons is modified by a frequency-dependent inverse sigma dielectric matrix. The nature of the dielectric matrix is discussed.
