Based on a memory function formalism the cyclotron resonance spectrum of quasi 2D polarons is calculated. From this spectrum we obtain the cyclotron effective polaron mass, which will be compared with the results of other calculations which are based on the calculation of the energy of the Landau levels. We found that the present approach is valid for larger values of α than, e.g., IWBPT. A comparison is made with polaron cyclotron resonance data on InSb-inversion layers and GaAs-heterostructures. Band non-parabolicity, and finite width of the 2D-electron layer are incorporated in our calculation. A survey of the importance of dynamical screening on static and dynamical polaron properties is given in the limit of small magnetic field strength. The importance of screening for finite magnetic fields will be discussed briefly.
