An ideal experiment for a uniaxial magnetic sample measured in a torque magnetometer is analyzed by means of an angular transformation over the measurement plane. By using this transformation the torque curves are developed in Fourier’s series. This development permits the finding of an analytical solution for the angular variation of the magnetization with respect to the field. Furthermore, an uniaxial anisotropy measured in a finite field is expressed as an infinite superposition of n-axial anisotropies whose constants are functions of the field. From this the general problem of a composite anisotropy in a heterogeneous magnetic object constituted of uniaxial uncoupled regions can be studied.
