For pt.I see ibid., vol.13, p.1745 (1980). Electron nuclear double resonance measurements are reported on a defect in Na beta -alumina, believed to be an F + centre, interacting with two equivalent Al nuclei. The observed ENDOR and ENDOR-induced EPR spectra can only be explained when a pseudodipolar coupling between the two nuclei is included. The Al superhyperfine and quadrupole tensors are determined.
