It is shown that a boundary containing dislocations of two systems can, in general, form on two, and only two, planes, which have simple indices, and that the rotation axes are simple crystallographic directions. Most of the experimental evidence on misorientations in deformed crystals can be explained in terms of such simple boundaries.
