This paper describes the integrative approach to training in systems thinking developed at the Boston Family Institute. Specifically, an experiential-cognitive training model is described in terms of Piagetian theory, learning styles, metaphor, and exercises which bridge right- and left-brain processes. This model is intended to connect trainees' personal experiences with systems theory and therapeutic skills.
