Nano-Crystalline Cadmium Oxide Thin Films for Supercapacitor Application: Effect of Solution Concentrations

Single-step electrodeposition method was employed for the deposition of innovative, nanostructured thin films of cadmium oxide at ambient temperature utilizing various solution concentrations. Deposited films ware annealed at 400 0 C operating temperature for 4 hours. Prepared Cadmium oxide (CdO) thin films show cubic crystal structure. The morphological investigation shows porous and granular surface morphologies. The obtained maximum specific capacitance (SC) is 476.69 Fg -1 at a 5mV/S scan rate for a 0.2 M electrode in a 1 M aqueous KOH electrolyte solution.
