: Climate literacy can be taught and examined through multiple issues. In our work we engage in inquiry-based learning using the National Council for the Social Studies C3 framework. We frame our materials through the lens of water as a central issue. Water is a great way to enhance climate literacy due to its deep impact on all our lives relative to how we operate in the world. It is our hope that teachers will use our materials to study water but will also see it as a framework which can be used to examine many other climate related issues. This lesson also highlights an integrated approach to climate-related issues which will allow students to see water and other issues as complex multi-dimensional issues.
