Concerted Two‐Electron‐Transfer Processes in Mixed‐Valence Species with Square Topology

Electronic chequers: Mixed-valent species were examined theoretically. The topology of the ground-state potential-energy surface of square mixed-valent derivatives (see picture) can be controlled and, in this way, the choice of a concerted two-electron transfer or consecutive single-electron transfer may also be made.
