Previous theories of light scattering at low temperatures by magnons in a ferromagnet and in a simple two-sublattice antiferromagnet are extended to apply the entire temperature range. The Green function method is used to calculate the temperature dependence of the intensity and frequency shift of the light scattered in first-order by the spin systems. Numerical results are presented for MnF 2 and FeF 2 . Theoretical expressions are also obtained for the temperature dependence of the strength of the antiferromagnetic resonance absorption.
