The difficulty in applying a condom catheter was overcome in 16 patients after implantation of a penile prosthesis. There were 14 patients with frequent skin lacerations, which were eliminated completely in 11 and reduced significantly in all. We emphasize the 25 per cent erosion rate believed to be related particularly to the penile skin anesthesia encountered in these patients. © 1981 by The American Urological Association Education and Research, Inc.FiguresReferencesRelatedDetailsCited bySwana H and Foster H (2018) Erosion of Malleable Penile Prosthesis into BladderJournal of Urology, VOL. 157, NO. 6, (2259-2260), Online publication date: 1-Jun-1997.Collins K and Hackler R (2018) Complications of Penile Prostheses in the Spinal Cord Injury PopulationJournal of Urology, VOL. 140, NO. 5 Part 1, (984-985), Online publication date: 1-Nov-1988.Bodner D, Lindan R, Leffler E, Kursh E and Resnick M (2018) The Application of Intracavernous Injection of Vasoactive Medications for Erection in Men with Spinal Cord InjuryJournal of Urology, VOL. 138, NO. 2, (310-311), Online publication date: 1-Aug-1987.Rossier A and Fam B (2018) Indication and Results of Semirigid Penile Prostheses in Spinal Cord Injury Patients: Long-Term FollowupJournal of Urology, VOL. 131, NO. 1, (59-61), Online publication date: 1-Jan-1984.
