The 13C NMR chemical shifts of fifteen 1,4‐oxathian‐2‐ones were obtained and analysed by multiple linear regression. The results are in agreement with those of an earlier 1H NMR study, indicating the boat conformation for the heterocyclic ring. The observed unexplained variation of the C‐3 shift was interpreted as being due to the conformational mobility of the ring.
