Simulation study reveals electrical and optical performance characteristics of D18:L8-BO organic solar cells, indicating pathways for optimizing photovoltaic device efficiency.
The rapid advancement of solar cell technology relies heavily on accurate electrical and optical simulations to optimize device performance and efficiency. In this study, we utilize the General-purpose Photovoltaic Device Model (GPVDM) software to conduct comprehensive electrical and optical simulations of a novel solar cell configuration composed of ITO/PEDOT: PSS/D 18 :L 8 -BO/PNDTI-F 3 N/Ag. By employing state-of-the-art simulation techniques, we investigate the device's electrical characteristics, including current-voltage (I-V) behavior, charge carrier distribution, and power conversion efficiency. Furthermore, optical simulations are conducted to analyze light absorption, photon-to-electron conversion efficiency, and spectral response across the visible spectrum. The results provide valuable insights into the performance and potential of the ITO/PEDOT: PSS/D 18 :L 8 -BO/PNDTI-F 3 N/Ag solar cell, facilitating the optimization and design of efficient photovoltaic devices for renewable energy applications.
