The D‐region ion 34+ probably can be identified as H2O2+ in contrast to its previous interpretation as S+. Number densities of H2O2+ and of the cluster ions H2O2+ · H2O, and H2O2+ · CO2 measured by three rocket borne mass spectrometers are presented. The chemistry of H2O2+ and its cluster is discussed particularly with respect to its implications for neutral H2O2.
