The results of the use of gentamicin in the treatment of meningitis or ventriculitis by both intrathecal and intramuscular routes are presented for 13 patients; these are in addition to the 12 reported previously. Levels of gentamicin in cerebrospinal fluid at intervals after an intraventricular dose of gentamicin indicate that adequate levels of the antibiotic are maintained during most of the 24 hr between doses after the initial dose. Results with patients continue to be satisfactory.
