The composite piezoelectric oscillator method has been employed to study the temperature dependence of the velocity of ultrasonic waves in Perspex and polystyrene plastics. While confirming a previously reported transition in Perspex at 60°C, the results show the existence of a transition in polystyrene also at 70°C for the first time.
