The effect of rubberwood on curing characteristics and mechanical properties of epoxidized natural rubber (ENR) was investigated in the loading range of 0 to 50 phr. Results indicate that the scorch and cure times decrease with increasing rubberwood loading. Tensile modulus and hardness of the composites increase with increasing rubberwood loading whereas tensile strength and tear strength show a decrease. SEM studies and rubber-rubberwood adhesion measurements indicate that the increasing rubberwood loading has weakened the rubber-rubberwood interactions.
