A total absorption Cerenkov γ-ray spectrometer has been used to study the relative probabilities of mesonic and radiative capture. The ratio was found to be 1.50 ± 0.15. This result is collated with other data concerning the interaction of low-energy pions with nucleons and radiation. Reasonable consistency is found.
