The results of a powder neutron diffraction study of the cubic fluorite solid solution U 1- x Np x O 2 ( x = 0.25, x = 0.75) are presented. For x = 0.25, an antiferromagnetic type- I order appears below T N = (16.5 ± 0.2) K with an ordered magnetic moment μ = (1.8 ± 0.1)μ B . For x = 0.75 the solid solution is magnetically ordered below T 0 = (10.5 ± 0.6) K. However, the magnetic structure is different and appears to be short range in character.
