Microwave lineshapes recorded under conditions of strong Stark modulation may yield improved data on anisotropic intermolecular pair potentials. We calculate the field dependence of the linewidths of the resolved components of the Stark spectrum of a symmetric top, broadened by interaction with an inert gas.
