A two‐dimensional random walk atmospheric dispersion model applicable to a passive pollutant within the surface layer in all stability conditions is described. Numerical concentration profiles from the model are shown to be in good agreement with experimental data. Lagrangian statistics from the model are compared with Lagrangian similarity theory, and the variation of the similarity constant c with stability is studied. The similarity properties of the root‐mean‐square cloud height σ2 are also investigated.
