The developments which have occurred in recent years in geological dating by radioactive decay are discussed. The developments have been most striking in the fields of potassium --argon and rubidium --strontium dating. Decay constants are given for the elements used in measurements. The nature of the agreement of mineral ages is considered. Finally, discordant uranium--lead ages are discussed.
