The Kerr constants of poly‐γ‐benzyl‐L‐glutamate, (poly[imino‐1‐(2‐benzyloxycarbonylethyl)‐2‐oxoethylene]), (PBLG), solutions in several solvents were measured as functions of the molecular weight of PBLG and electric field intensity. The results were interpreted in terms of association modes of PBLG.
