Transition enthalpies of silver iodide in the high-pressure region determined by differential scanning calorimetry

Differential scanning calorimetry was used at high pressure to determine the transition enthalpies for five solid-solid phase transformations in AgI. The maximum pressure was 7.4 kbars. The very sluggish transitions to the intermediate phase were investigated using both β- and γ-type AgI as the starting material. No differences in transition pressure for the two types could, however, be detected.
