Computational modeling study demonstrates robust color image encryption using a conservative memristive hyperchaotic system, indicating high cryptographic security for digital media.
This work proposes a novel four-dimensional conservative memristive hyperchaotic (CMH) system based on a generalized Hamiltonian framework. Theoretical and numerical analyses demonstrate that the proposed CMH system possesses a unique center equilibrium point and a strictly zero divergence. These characteristics guarantee energy conservation and zero dissipation during its dynamic evolution. Moreover, its complex dynamic behaviors, including parameter sensitivity, transient transfer phenomenon, high dependence on initial energy, and multistability are validated by various dynamical analyses. Meanwhile, the proposed CMH system is also implemented on an FPGA hardware platform using a fixed-point arithmetic strategy to verify its practical feasibility. Additionally, combining the high-dimensional chaotic sequence generated by the CMH system with dynamic DNA coding technology, a new CMH-based encryption scheme is designed and applied to color image encryption. The security and anti-attack robustness of the designed CMH-based encryption scheme are effectively validated through a comprehensive performance evaluation, including histogram analysis, correlation coefficient, information entropy, and anti-interference testing.
