The absorption cross-section curve for indium vapour has been determined in the range 1640-1800 Å. Five autoionization lines were investigated and it is suggested that the transition designation of the 1757.4 Å line should be changed to 2 P 1/2 0 - 2 S 1/2 . The f -number contribution from the ground 2 P 1/2 0 state is found to be 0.25 and that from the 2 P 3/2 0 state to be 0 45 for the lines involved.
