Release of Norepinephrine from the Isolated Heart.

Acetylcholine produces a prompt positive inotropic effect on the isolated atropinized heart. Norepinephrine is the agent largely responsible for this action as judged by biological and chemical assay of perfusates collected during the period of stimulation.
