Theoretical and pragmatic aspects of positive reframing with hospitalized middle-school age children are discussed and illustrated through case studies. Specific attention is given to the role of paradox, group process, and the cognitive-developmental level of the child in the construction of an effective reframing intervention. Applications and limitations of reframing are discussed.
