The present work focuses on the description of shot noise for Volterra series analysis. A basic mathematical shot noise description is presented. This description is based on Dragones classical work. Two examples of the theory are presented: The first example investigates the fundamental properties of a shot noise source. The second example investigates the analysis of shot noise in a simple non-linear network through the use of Volterra series. In both examples very good agreement between theory and numerical experiments is obtained.
