Key result
Ivabradine and nebivolol both improved left ventricular ejection fraction to 51% after 6 months in patients with stable angina pectoris and mild left ventricular dysfunction, with no significant difference between the treatments.
Why the study?
The study was conducted to evaluate the efficacy of ivabradine and nebivolol in treating patients with stable angina pectoris and mild left ventricular dysfunction.
Does ivabradine improve heart rate and LVEF compared to nebivolol in patients with stable angina pectoris and mild left ventricular dysfunction?

No
Does ivabradine improve heart rate and LVEF compared to nebivolol in patients with stable angina pectoris and mild left ventricular dysfunction?
Both ivabradine and nebivolol effectively reduced heart rate and improved LVEF in patients with stable angina and mild LV dysfunction, though ivabradine was associated with a lower incidence of sinus bradycardia.
May favor ivabradine for tachycardia-driven angina; leaves open confirmation in randomized trials.
Objective: In this study my main goal is to evaluate the efficacy of Ivabradine and Nebivolol in the Treatment of Stable Angina Pectoris Patients with Mild Left Ventricular Dysfunction. Methods: This cross-sectional observational study was done in tertiary medical college and hospital from December 2018 to December 2019.A total of 100 consecutive patients were included. The patients were evaluatedin 2 different groups (1,2). In group-1 Nebivolol 5mg/daywas administered to the 50 patients included in GroupA. 50 patients were started onIvabradine 10mg/day and these patients were includedinto group-2. Results: During the study, heart rate decreased (786) to (655) in Group: 1 and (77 7) to (70 5) in Group: 2.After 6 months' treatment LVEFfor the group-1 improved by (48 6.5) to (51 3.2), and forthe group-2 (47 5.4) to (51 2.3). There is no significant change in EF improvement in both groups.Dose-related sinus bradycardia occurred in (5%) of the nebivolol-using patients included in Group-1, where as in group-2 it was 1%. Conclusion: From my study I can conclude that, Ivabradine can be considered as first choice in patient with tachycardia induced angina as this agent for reducing heart rate as well as chest pain. The hypertensive patient with tachycardia may be treated by Nebivolol. Further study is needed better result.

Rafiqul Islam (2020) conducted an observational in Stable Angina Pectoris with Mild Left Ventricular Dysfunction (n=100). Ivabradine vs. Nebivolol 5mg/day was evaluated on Left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF) at 6 months. Ivabradine and nebivolol both improved left ventricular ejection fraction to 51% after 6 months in patients with stable angina pectoris and mild left ventricular dysfunction, with no significant difference between the treatments.
