An interest in the possibility of a systemic lipid disturbance in Schnyder's corneal dys- trophy stems from the work of Bonnet, Paufique, and Bonamour (I934), who first sug- gested that the needle-shaped corneal deposits in this condition consisted of cholesterol. The present study is of great interest since it describes a family in which Schnyder's central crystalline stromal dystrophy coexisted with an inherited disorder of the plasma lipo- proteins. The significance of this association is discussed in detail.
