The magnetic moments of conducting, permeable spheres and cylinders in an oscillating magnetic field are calculated as functions of the conductivity, permeability, radius of cross section and wave-length. Also the electric moment of a conducting sphere in an oscillating electric field is obtained. The results are applied to the determination of the effect of particle size on the effective permeability of magnetic powders.
