The gas chromatographic separation of enantiomeric 2‐hydroxycarboxylic acids has been achieved for the first time on novel stationary phases. The acids are separated as O‐trifluoroacetylated isopropyl estes. Examples for the phases are (S)‐mandelic acid (S)‐α‐phenylethlamide and O‐benzyloxycarbonyl‐(S)‐mandelic acid tert‐butylamide.
