A photostimulated, temperature-dependent, reversible sorption of oxygen on cadmium selenide crystals, pretreated to produce donor centers in the surface layers, has been investigated through its effect on the measured dark conductivity. Adsorbed oxygen acts as an acceptor to decrease the surface conductivity at room temperature by at least five orders of magnitude.
