Observations from several neonatal studies revealed statistically significant behavioral differences among healthy full-term newborns. It is proposed that among these differences certain ones will affect the nature of early experience, particularly the mother-infant relationship. Others may favor the development of certain cognitive styles, defenses and characterological differences.
